Fawn Mckay

Fawn MCK Brodie was born 15th September 1915 at Ogden Utah. Born into the Mormon Church's first family Fawn McKay directed her ingenious writing talents as well as her remarkable research skills to creating an amazing psycho-historical account of Joseph Smith, published in 1945 under the title The Only Man Knows My History. This title is taken from the funeral sermon delivered by Joseph Smith, founder of The Church of Latter-Day Saints. He shocked his audience by telling his audience: "You don't even know my name. There is no way to know the depths of my soul." No one knows about my past. My history is not known by anyone. Fawn an older woman, aged 29 said: "Since that moment of candor, at least three writers have risen to the task." Many have abhorred him and some have praised. There are a few who have come to the diagnosis. Not that the documents are not there, but the fact that they're contradictory. It is a daunting task to put together these papers--of sorting first-hand information from third-hand plagiarism of fitting Mormon as well as non-Mormon stories to create a picture that is credible historical claims. It's both thrilling and instructive. Fawn Brodie's life as a professional was dedicated to this goal. The results of her study as well as her writing earned her worldwide fame. Thaddeus Stevens. The Devil drives (1959). Thomas Jefferson. The Intimate Histories (1974) The Life of Sir Richard Burton (1974) and Richard Nixon.
