Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin who was born in Wellington but was born and raised in Winnipeg became an actor as a character in The Piano. At age 11 years old, she became an infant Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. She was cast as Flora McGrath the daughter of Mute Scottish pianist, who in the late 19th century, moves back to New Zealand for an arranged marriage after responding to an open audition call; she was nine years older and had no previous experience as an actor. At the age of 17, Paquin made the move to America. Paquin played the title child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. Paquin had a small role in the TV film of 1997 adaptation of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad which she was in, she played the Spanish queen in a minor role. The actress played teens on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) as well as the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
