In the first season, shippers place bids on two shipments that are listed on uShip, in a reverse auction format. Bids include comments on the probable costs and risks and the reasons and capabilities. The task is typically assigned to the bidder with the lowest price at the time that the auction closes. But, at the discretion of the client the auction may be offered to a more competitive bidder who has received a better rating in feedback from previous clients. In order to break any ties feedback ratings are utilized. Season 9 will see shippers receive their cargo from a shipping company. The bidding process isn’t depicted. Shippers load their cargo and attempt to get it delivered in good order by the deadline set by the buyer or the receiver. Once the cargo has been delivered, the clients leave feedback ratings. The program concludes with the revenue of each shipper and expenses. taken out of the bid for the purpose of determining the overall profit or loss. Sometimes, shippers arrange to haul additional loads in the same trip. The money is added to their total. Sometimes, the shipper will not be able to finish a job because of concerns over the size of the load or the weight and road safety. The shipper could hire another person to assist with a job. Once the job is completed and the shippers have decided how to divide the profits. In the first eight seasons, the progression of each shipment is interspersed by humorous critiques from other shippers.
